Yeo Hoe Koon is a Singaporean artist best known for his evocative oil paintings and etchings that often explore human emotions, cultural identity, and the beauty of everyday life. Trained in both Western and Eastern art traditions, Yeo studied at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, where he developed a strong foundation in European techniques while retaining the lyrical sensibility of Asian aesthetics. His works frequently feature figures, landscapes, and symbolic imagery rendered with rich colors, expressive brushwork, and a contemplative mood. Over the years, Yeo has exhibited internationally and gained recognition for his ability to merge cross-cultural influences into a distinctive artistic voice. Beyond his practice, he has also contributed as a teacher and mentor, playing an important role in shaping Singapore’s art landscape. His art continues to resonate for its poetic quality, emotional depth, and reflection of both personal and collective experiences.
